Tempo One
Just picked up a Tempo One for $25. It comes on and I can hear sideband talk on it but don't have a clue what band it is on. How can I tell if it is setup to work on 11 meters?

Broadcast on anotherradio and listen. If you have an antenna analyser set on freq and hold fight next to coax connector and listen

Put a mobile antenna on the Tempo and keyed up my 2517 and couldn't even get anytype of signal or bleedover, so I must assume that the radio is not setup for 11 meters, thanks for the help.

It probably isn't modded for 11m, there is some info on it, http://hamgallery.com/gallery/T/tempo_one.htm you'll have to do some digging for more.

I have several Tempos and I really love them. To mod for 11 meter most had 11 meter crystals inserted in 1 or 2 of the 10 meter switch positions. Perform your test again with another radio and switch the frequency band switch to all the other positions and scan with the tuner..Of course you have to know how to tune up the radio first. The quick way is to connect up the radio with a frequency meter and key the mic. That way you can see the frequency range that you are transmitting in. You will need to tune up for each 500Mh band, then zero it in when you get to where you want to be.
