What forward gain and front to back ratio can you live with?Rooster1545 wrote: Sep 08 2020, 21:00 hey guys I want to build a beam antenna just so many stories I don't know which to go buy

I'd rather build it myself but its looking like I may need to buy a good one first then learn from it but there are many to choose from

If you are building one from scratch you can use a manufactured antenna measurement details. Look on CB Tricks at the antenna manuals for specs.

Here's a shot in the dark. 27.2 Mhz: forward gain 11.5dbi, F/B ratio 15.2db, vertical take off angle 25deg, 27deg beam width, longest element 18 feet, 9 foot boom length, no matching scheme required at the feedpoint.Rooster1545 wrote: Sep 09 2020, 18:50 I'm not sure really I'm still in learning process and it'd be for 11 meter cb radio most of the locals have beam antennas and i like talking skip too, i can't have a huge one though and I'm looking to see how to rotate it

You could look into building a Moxon. Best bang for the buck for a small beam antenna.
