Did you download and install the programs used to decode these different modes? Most of the downloads are free.

Search the mode like FLDIGI on the internet, a website with the free program will be the first couple sites that pop up. do the same for the rest.

I have no clue. I do know most PSK31 transmissions have about 50% errors, you have to learn to read them like a bad novel.

Re: FLDIGI,DIGIPAN,HAMSCOPE ???
You might want to look for a band chart that shows what mode is being used on what frequencies. Icom as a nice one,

I printed it out and laminated it so it's at my radios all the time.

Re: FLDIGI,DIGIPAN,HAMSCOPE ???
There is a free version of HRD (Ham Radio Deluxe) 5.24.38 floating around in cyberspace, it has a nice version of DM780 and the program is compatible with your radio and other hardware.
Now you will see a lot of "copy-rite" infringements posted but you can still find it. The owner of the new "HRD" versions is trying to stop websites from letting everyone copy it, but he didn't by the rights to that one, it was freeware long before his deal went through.

US CB stations are also discovering the fun and benefits of digital modes(JS8call).
Will the trend continue or will it stay with the current users?
