Re: Amp
In the "On" position but receiving the amp's relay bypasses the amplifier section and it sits at idle. You can turn it off and should not see any difference. I do believe on that RM Italy amp you have the Pre-Amp can be turned on separately, but you will probably find that using it will increase the noise sometimes more than the person you are trying to hear.

Re: Amp
sitting in the driveway with the motor turned off...you might run the battery dead quicker with it on if it has a fan...
Just a little "FYI"....Even if you turn the amp off...It's still ON!
All the ON/OFF switch does is turn off any lights, or fan that maybe running, and the keying circuit...But the transformers have power running to them all the time, as long as the power cord is hooked up...
Which is another reason why if you remove the top cover...better make sure it's unplugged from the power source first before you go poking around inside with a screwdriver.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Re: Amp
After reading JJD's comments I think I should have asked what "Amp" we are talking about? What type, tube, transistor, or mosfet?FLShooter wrote: November 13th, 2020, 12:12 pm Is it bad to leave the amp. on when just listening to the cb? Or should you turn it off? New to using an Amp.
