Astatic D 104's are hard to beat, but may need new mic element....Turner Plus Three another hard to beat, just remember these things are going to be anywhere from 20 to 40+ years old...
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Re: Suggestions for a base or desk microphone??
There is a new desk microphone a couple of my locals are using, called the Delta M2, comes pre-wired for Cobra/Uniden/Galaxy and I believe you can get it in other configurations too, (6pin RCI Ranger or 5pin old Cobra/President).

Re: Suggestions for a base or desk microphone??
I will say the M2 does have a steep price but it does have a good quality sound. I do like the D104 Silver Eagle and they too have a good sound with the electret microphone element mod, the thing is finding a nice one on the internet that isn't "boo coo" bucks, think the last ones made are reaching 30 years old now. Same goes for the Turner +2, +3, etc. they are old and up in price for a good one.
