JC Penney 6238 ( AM Only ) Nice old base station - needs a serious boost in the output power - Any tips ?

Nice AM base, similar to the Ward 702A which I have one, not a power house, not much to be done to them either. A good power microphone will bring up the modulation some, I use a older D104 with the electret microphone element mod, sounds decent. If you can find a small kicker like a HyGain Afterburner, it will give you the boost you want.

I actually removed the 2.5 amp fuse from the power supply so it only runs the clock - I installed a second supply that is fully adjustable inside the cabinet to run the transmitter part - Set to 13.75 volts it really talks well now

In doing a little curious searching it looking like the Cobra 86XLR is a match,
