affordable cb

Hi im looking to buy a good cb for me and some friends
can anyone give me advice on where to buy?

Unless you have a Ham liscense you are not legally allowed to operate that radio -

The 1.25-meter, 220 MHz or 222 MHz band is a portion of the VHF radio spectrum internationally allocated for amateur radio use on a primary basis in ITU

Further if you are new to radios then that unit may be difficult to operate although you could learn it.

Maybe you can check out some radio sets that only have a few channels and are easier to operate. They dont cost much either

What WW1 said about that Boafeng HT is true, you need a ham ticket and hopefully someone close to you has a repeater for the 1.25m band. Your best bet is to check out either eBay or Amazon unless you have a truck stop near you to peruse.

There are all sorts of used CB radios all over Facebook marketplace. I recently saw one ad from a company which pulled CB's from their trucks and were selling them at $10 apiece, Cobra 29LTD's.

As said on the one you listed...you need a license first to use that particular radio as it's not a "CB" radio...

What your not clear on is are you looking for something portable like a hand-held walkie talkie or something you can mount in a car or truck?

Plenty to chose from in and around 60-bucks or less New....Uniden 510 and 520XL are two excellent radios that run in that price range...Cobra 19's are another one that start under 50-bucks.

Also try hitting yard sales/garage sales and flea markets.

Look for a quality brand like Cobra, Tram. maybe Teaberry. JC Penny and Midland also made good rigs.

My wife recently picked up a box with a Uniden 510XL, weather radio, and numerous external speakers for $10 at a yard sale. The radio works OK but the channel display LED's have a few segments not lighting up. I plan to use the mike for another project and will set the 510 aside. May strip it for parts, may leave it alone.

As I said, just searching FB Marketplace for "CB" will find dozens of used radios for sale locally, most for decent prices.
