Im looking for the mod to replace the mb8719 with the mc145106pll.

I have seen some where you keep the 8719 for filtering. Not interested in that one

Is the 1 mod where you shift all the pins 9-17 on the mc145106pll and grnd pin 6 with pin 17 going to ground with a resistor and then to 5+volts.

will this mod work and get the regular 40 and then some uppers and lowers?

Im trying to do this by replacing the mb8719 just using the mc145106.

Can someone let me know if this will work on a Washington base?

Doing this mod will it still get regular and high low channels?

thanks

I never saw the mod mentioned so I have no clue. I will say unmodded Washington bases in good shape are worth more than modded ones.
I had stopped modding radios since the market was flooded with conversion radios, plus a lot of operators have switched to modded ham radios, the time and headaches getting them right (adjusted) is just too cost effective.
If you do the mod, keep us informed as someone else on the forum might be interested.

Well I do have a mod working now with the mc145106pll get 28.045 - 26.515 3 position rotary and 3 toggles to get missed banks of channels and 1 is the 10kc jump. it will even go higher but you will have to tune the radio for this. So its set for 28.045 - 26.515 all pll driven. So what im trying to do is get the half channel 5kc drop that the chip is capable of doing. if i activate the pin 6 it will give the half channel on some but not on all the channels so i will post some pictures of the kit working with an attached freq counter.

This kit will work on either the 8734/8719 pll chip does not matter. Just remove the pll and plug in this kit and replace 2 caps to broaden the vco to lock all channels.

Many people out there like there old radios and this is the best way to mod no trace cuts no holes drilled as you can see the 2 different set top boxes. If someone does not mind adding switches then there is just the kit to fit internally in the radio and add the switches.
This give just enough extra channels where you can talk before going into the ham bands where there is not many to talk to until 28.300 for voice. 28.00 to 28.290 is code i think. Well the kit was easy to install and with it all in the freq counter great channel chart even though it came with a paper channel chart.

Yes I will post if i can get info on a better mc145106 channel Kit
