Standby Switch on solid state amplifier
Hello all. I recently obtained a Davemade 2X12 amplifier that is equipped with a preamp and ssb switch. I noticed that on this particular amp there is also a standby switch. I had never seen a standby switch on any solid state amp, and wanted to know what the purpose was on this one. The only amps I have ever seen with standby had been tube amps up to this point. I was wondering if maybe the standby acted as a glorified mute switch, or if it bypasses the amp when engaged. Any information would be appreciated. Cheers!

Basically it turns off the transmit sensing circuit so the relays don't key. It could be as simple as opening a wire on the relay to relay a more complicated relay to the same circuit.

Thanks for the info! I really appreciate it. Kinda figured it was something like that, but it is always good to have confirmation:)

Each builder has their own critique, I also think that the pre amp can still be used in bypass (Standby) mode.
