Got a Imax 2000 coming by UPS sometime this week....

what should I do with this, are any of those antennas good for radio or should I tear it all down (this thing came with the house, never used it)?

You can probably sell the antenna and tower. Man the guy must have won the lottery to leave a setup like that in place.

Nice setup.

There is quite a few people in my area running big base stations with setups like that and many bigger multi towers in there back yard.
I just scratch my head and wonder where they get the money for stuff like that!!

Hey man, don't tear it down, check out what frequency that beam is for, it looks like it could be used for 11/10M which means it should be fine for CB. However given that it has 15 elements I am going to guess 400 MHz, either that or it is a multi-element, multi-band beam meaning only some of the elements are used at certain frequencies.

If that tower is freestanding which it looks to be you are looking at $4000 bare minimum for the tower alone. The rotor and other stuff are probably about $500 and the beam and microwave dish are probably about $600 in total. All together that is $5100 U.S bare minimum. MINIMUM.

You could put up a wi-fi beam too and borrow some of that for free internet!

Hi all:
There are some areas of the country where local tv was not available, locals station where located sometimes up to 150 Miles away.
In order to pull the signal that far away, they have to use a big yagi antennas for "vhf" and parabolic dish for "uhf" tv type signals.
The rotor is for fine tunning the reception, been so far away, sometimes the signal bounces in mountains,canyon's,valley's,tree's,etcc... or they could get locals from diferent states.
The tower is use to suport big antenna structures high in the air.
What I can see is just and old analog yagi vhf tv antenna with an uhf tv dish and tv rotor.
A lot of people leave this towers behind, because is more expensive to take them down to the owner than leave it with the property.
Just for curiosity, call a local or state tower installer company and ask him how much he will charge to take a tower down???
Some people get towers for free just for ask and remove it from the property, that could be you!!!!

theonlysilentbob,
I don't know how the hell you think it's worth $5,100
All it is is a vhf beam and parabolic uhf dish like tecnicoloco said. For $5100 you could buy a BRAND NEW 72' motor drive crank up tower from texas towers, AND a 5-element beam!!!
That tower sure is'nt near 72 feet.......
