What is the best scanner? Whats your personal fav?

This is my personal #1 scanner! BCD 396T
Super fast, super capable, massive memory (entire province of ontario in a portable!!!!) and super slick with amazing audio quality.

I don't own the 996T (yet!) but a friend has one and it is just slick! In fact I think it is actually the best scanner on the market right now, does everything but pro-voice.

The 396T goes for $530 ($570 Cdn) and the big boy, the 996T goes for about $540 ($600 Cdn).
When the 396T first hit the market a few months back it was around $800 and the first few 996T's sold were almost $1000, so prices have fallen quickly to the expected regular sales prices predicted by Uniden.
There is another model comming out this summer, the BCT 15 which will probably be around $350 - $400 (~450 Cdn).

It is the same as the 996T except it has considerably less memory and is a missing a few others features which 99% of the population really does not need LOL.

Those bear-cat models are pretty good scanners, But my personal fave is the Radio Shack Pro-97! I try not to buy anything at radio shack, but these new pro-97's are **Censored**! The receiver is one of the best out there, there was a test done on-line between the Uniden Bearcat BC396T and the cheaper Pro-97, using the same antenna, and the 97 came out on top! In my opinion this is the best deal in the scanner world today! $150 gets you alpha tags, -20Db attenuator, Triple Trunking (M-I/II, EDACS, LTR), CTCSS/DCS tone decoder, and a Frequency Counter Function (Which Automatically identifies the strongest signal in your area and shows the frequency) Go Get One!
Catch ya' Later Modulator!
