a local guy has one for sale, i was thinking of adding this to a peaked and tuned cobra 29 ltd. Would the davemade m40 and the cobra talk better then my Connex 3300hp? Which one will get me heard better, thanks
ether radio will work the Davemade will not know if its a cobra or Connex driving it, as long as the radio is set up with a low deadkey ,,,M40 isn't a big amp, but the talk big, watts, I can't remember
Which combo would get out further, the davemade and the cobra or would the connex 3300hp alone get out further. I am trying to decide if i want to purchase the amp and run it with the cobra and sell the Connex or if i should just keep the connex. Thanks
Power isn't everything. Audio is very important for cutting through the airwaves. If you stayed with a good radio like the 3300 and tuned it down for the M40 I think you'd like it better. THe M40 is only a 1-pill 2290 amp, so you would have to tune down the 3300 to about 1.5-2w Deadkey before you used it.
Often times it's not the wattage that smashes through the static, it's the audio. Yes, wattage is important, but you'd be suprised how much difference good audio makes.
It really depends on how much you're spending for the M40, for $150 you can buy a 2x2879 for your 3300HP that will have you doing 300-350Watts.
Hope this helps
Connex 3300HP is a good radio, any good amp will work, but a Cobra 29 tuned right will talk as loud as the connex, KEYDOWNS are won with Cobras and some Unidens, not Connex radios,,,,for the Connex I would get an Eastcoast , Davemade, or Fatboy amp
well i was thinking of running the amp with peaked and tuned 29 cobra, and just selling the connex. There is alot more to the Cb radio world then i ever thought. I guess my main goal would be to have loud audio(like the connex) from the cobra plus some watts behind it for some range.
IMO, Keep the Connex (General Lee) and drive a 2 pill DaveMade, Eastcoast, or similar box. THis will get you up in the neighborhood of 300 watts from a stock charging system.
Contact Radioactive, or Eastcoast....the both offer GREAT deals to forum members
