Post by Amish Joe »

I just installed a SWP GL with a Galaxy FC347 and as I'm going down the road the freq is changing without me changing the channel...is this normal?

Just the last two but mostly the last one. I've never had a freq counter before so I don't if it supposed to stay on one number or not?

nothing to worry about. that small change in freq. no one will ever know. my cobra 200 will change when its warmed up. i have to do minor adjustments to mien when its cold but when it warms up it will go off just the last number . shouldn't be anything to worry about unless its moving more than 3 numbers on your counter. like i said i have a 6 digit counter and the last number will move 1 when its cold from when its hot. no noticeable change in RX or TX when it occurs.

Good question, it answered mine as well. My last digit moves every once in a while up or down one, but usually never more then two.

All radios need time to wrm up and get the operating tempreture..
usually about 20 minutes..
the older gear is known for drift of around 100hz even after half hour..

nothing to worry about, when it's like a yaesu FT-757 then worry..!!
