Television Guy question.
Television Guy question.
Hey folks I've been searching around here looking for an answer to this quesiton and couldn't find it so here it goes. I actually work for a TV company and I have access to both RG-6 and RG-11 both 75 Ohms (that is what our system is up here and pretty much everywhere). I was wondering if I could use either of these for my mobile setup? Both are "quad-shielded" in TV company terms. I found numerous charts on the internet that had RG-11 on there list for cables to use, but I wanted to ask you folks to make sure. Thanks

Many years ago, I made a jumper that went between my base radio and linear from some cable TV coax thinking it was a cheap way to get away with making a jumper. When I keyed the radio things started popping, and I ask for a radio check. The guy that answered told me to turn everything off because he could hear it crackling and popping on his end. Never did know the reason it would not work, but took the guys word and never tried it anymore. Later!
