Clays Radio Shop
Just for those of you who maybe thinking of a good tech. to do some "Tune-Up" work on your radio equipment, or maybe in the market for another radio.
I wasn't doing anything today, so I decider to take a drive over to Clays, and have them check out the SSB on my new S9. For some reason on SSB the radio was only doing around 12w's swing...I dont use SSB all that much, but I know the radio should have been doing more than that.
The Tech at Clays, did a awesome job of tuning the radio, plus found some resisters and a cap, that RF Limited had in the radio that were the wrong ones on the receiving end. They replaced those, which boosted the RX, tuned the radio, and also took the time to show me on their scope machine, what the radio was doing before the tune-up, and afterwords.
I also had them add a SSB delay to my Davemade 2x6 so I could use it on SSB.
These guys are great! They do excellent work. and dont charge a arm and leg...(ok, maybe a arm...But you get to keep your leg!):D
I feel lucky that they are in the North Texas area, and I don't have to worry about shipping my stuff out-of-state, every time I need something done. Just hard to find techs that really know what there doing now days.
A++++ in my book.
