Any of you guys know where I can buy one of these for a Galaxy 979?

The 979 comes with a Star-lite Face plate already...If yours is not working, it may just have a bad solder joint, or loose connection...Sometimes my Galaxy 93T's face plate wont lite-up, but I know it's got a bad solder joint somewhere...(Galaxy's are bad about that)

Thats probably my problem. The bad soldered wire...since it works sometimes, and then sometimes it don't...Guess sometimes it's not shorting out...and sometimes it does. But getting to the part he is talking about is easy'er said, than done! :wink:

Sorry guys, the radio is a 959. Just need something to light up the faceplate.

Think your "Out-of-Luck" then! You have to buy the radio with it already installed...You may find someone that can swap out a faceplate off of a different radio to yours for a price, but would be easier, and probably cheaper. Just to buy a radio that already has the Star Lit faceplate...

Yep, thats what I figured, may just have to get a small led with diffuser until I blow this old galaxy up. Thanks for all the info guys.

get a flashlight! just kidding, i really like the 95T2, they along time ago had issues with starlight faceplates, there was a service order issued on some little plastic piece cutting into the starlite face making them shortout
those 959s are pretty nice for the money
