What do you guys think about this radio? I'm thinking of picking one up. Is it easy to mod?

Ten tec makes excellent hf radios. That said, they are best known for their cw performance, with ssb being good, but not great. They don't do AM. Not sure how to mod the scout, if it can be done, there should be some info on the web.

I'm not sure this radio can be modified for 11 meters considering the modules determine the band...but maybe it's possible.

Probably not worth it if, in fact, it can be done. As was mentioned this is an Amateur set that uses distinct plug-in modules to determine the band of operation. I am pretty certain there's no "module" for 11 Meters, only those for 160(?), 80, 40, 30, 20, 15, 17(?), 12(?), and 10 Meter. Since there's only the 10 Meter module that approximates 28-29.7 MHZ, I am not sure *if* it can be changed. I've never owned the Scout, and am really that familiar with it to be honest!
