Counter in DX66V is Dead

Counter in DX66V is Dead
No frequency counter, or channel display. I know the freq counter isn't bad. I pulled it out and installed it in an old 55v and it works great. I know it has to be something simple. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is the radio operating normally other than the display being off?
Is the meter light off as well?
Does the red transmit light work?
If the answer to all of those questions is yes, I would assume it is the dimmer or something connected to it. Make sure a wire hasn't broken off the back of that pot. Check to make sure the dimmer isn't off.

Your posts are very cryptic.
Your first post led me to believe that the only problem with the radio was the channel and frequency display.
Your second post says "The meter light is the only thing working. No key-up, TX light, etc. I'm lost on this one."
Does this mean the meter light is the only one of the lights working?
Or, do you mean the meter light is the only thing on the radio working?
What is no key-up? Does this mean the red light isn't working?
Or, do you mean the radio won't key up.

If that is the case, I would guess that TR51 is shot.
TR51 is a 2SB754, an 8 volt voltage regulator, also called the AM Modulation amp. An alternate part is a 2SB817. Which one is the better part has been quite a debated subject. Either part will work.
Try and be more specific if my guesses are wrong. Say -exactly- what the radio will and won't do, and in what modes AM/FM, TX/RX it will and won't do those things in.

Ok. Here's what i have so far. Counter displays 27.888 mhz on RX. Digits are extremely bright. When I key the mic, the digits dim to normal brightness and read 27.185 as they should. Dimmer only works on freq counter when mic is keyed. Dimmer works on channel display and meter light as normal in both rx and tx. RX is a little noisier than normal. RF gain cuts out the white noise as it should, but leaves a faint hum.
