I have 2 2950's. Just took them out of storage after 3 years. Fired them both up. They both read busy. No sound coming in or going out. They worked great. Now, nothing. Any ideas would be great. I want to get back into radio. HELP. Thanks.

I'M NOT SURE BUT MAYBE YOUR SQUELCH IS TO HIGH OR THE RF GAIN IS TO LOW.I'V HAD MY 2950 FOR OVER TEN YEARS AND I'V NEVER HAD A PROBLEM..OOPS ONE THING WHEN IT GETS COLD THE CHANNELS RUN ALL BY THEM SELF.I'LL FIX THAT THIS SUMMER GOT TO BE A COLD SOLDER JOINT!!!!!!!!!!!.JUST TAKE YOUR TIME WITH IT THEY ARE A GOOD RADIOI TALK SKIP ALL DAY EVERYDAY WITH IT.NOW ITS ON THE BENCH NEXT TO THE COBRA 200 WAITING TO GET ITS TURN AGAIN ON THE AIRWAVES.

Could it be that it has a dead memory battery. I ran 2950's back in the early 90's and they had a backup battery in them back then, but I don't remember them giving those symptoms when dead, but that's just a guess. -drdx

Well if it's reading "BUSY" the squelch is all the way down, DRDX may be right that has happened to me once, but rare.
Have you checked the speaker for holes.
Maybe the Rf Gain turned down.

Good thinking. It's been so long since I've owned one, I forgot about the BUSY deal. Try an external speaker. That's weird that both of them are like that. -drdx

Hi all. Well, thank you for your help. I just got back in. I will try when I get back from picking my kids up from school. That is very odd that they both decided to act up at the same time. I talked to someone down in Texas yesterday. They said It could be the processors. It happens to them after storage and that I should send them down there. OK. Do I have stupid for a screen name. NOT. I will try an external speaker and then mess with the sq and rf gain. Thanks again.
