i have a browning golden eagle in the mail, hope to get it soon. i was looking up mods and all i could really find was mods for the moblie units by browning. maybe there are no mods for golden eagles or tube radios? i have never had a tube radio so im not sure. all im looking to do is increase the modj a lil. 209

I personally would not touch it! Those are great radios and if you want to "mod" it, just add a little fire in the wire

Kinda agree, before i plan on the mods, I'd be checking it out. Dont be super suprised if the radio needs to be recapped. its very common.

ok, thats even better. hope i wont need to do anything to it. BUT i dont see how i would get any swing with it though, im assuming they had a modulation limiter so it wont go over 100% just like other radios? 209

Like RA mentioned, don't be surprised by it needing some caps. And don't be surprised if it's WAY loud from the get go. Friend of mine has one and it doesn't key alot of wattage but it is LOUD LOUD! 8)

i have a mark iva, its nice but with having to tune the rec. and transmit sepratly is kinda annoying (im impatient). i like the tram better, the sound, the coolest squelch control, and tone control. i would like to run it full time but wow, it throws off some HEAT after being on 4 hours. 209
