I just got a set of five hard-to-find replacement function control switch buttons for my Kenwood TS-940SAT. During the move, I carried this HEAVY radio and lost one of the hematite colored control buttons. I could still press the function but the radio looked horrible to me without having it complete. So I've looked and looked and bid and bid and finally found someone willing to sell me the middle row of switches like seen in the photo below. Just one of those things getting harder and harder to find, and people really drive up the prices on them while bidding on eBay.

Still I got the one I need and have a few spares to boot!

Ok, gotta play catch up here....about a week ago I got a Gray 100 linear, and a Wilson 5000 mag mount just by being at the right place at the right time, gotta love free!!
And yesterday I bought a NEW in the box, never opened, Cobra 148F GTL for 150.00!!! This is the one with the freak counter on the face, they don't make 'em anymore!! The date on the warranty card in mine is 1994. If anyone else is interested in one he has 3 left, as well as 4 Uniden Grant XL's also new in the box unopened for 129.00
PM me if your interested in one and I'll get you the name and number of the shop, don't want to say it here.

Just got a Realistic TRC 448 am/ssb and an A99 given to me by a friend. I haven't put up the A99 yet but I hooked the 448 up to a power supply and my .64 Ground Plane and talked to the friend I got the radio from after wiring a mic up to fit it. He told me I was beating down his front door. Recieve audio was a bit scratchy on am (almost like it was off freq a little). I could make the audio worse by playing with the clarifier but the bes I could get it was all the way ccw, and that wasn't perfect, understandable but not perfect. Should the clarifier have any affect on am? I am new to ssb. Haven't tried the radio on ssb yet, but, I will report back.

Earlier last week on a Thrift store scout I picked up a mint Cobra 25 wx st, with a power mike for 9.00.
And yesterday I went to a Hamfest swap meet here in town and bought a super clean Cobra 142 gtl, with extra channels, and variable power for 125.00.

If the clarifier has been opened it will affect AM tx. That 448 is an older mobile type radio and could use alignment by a qualified tech to smooth out your rx problem.

Thanks, that is kinda what I was thinking. Not a lot around here for shops but I do know a guy who has done some work for me in the past with good results. Maybe I will have to give him a call.

20 feet of brand new out of the box Belden battery cable 1 AWG, copper lugs, and waterproof heatshrink. For the price of free. Let a friend use my crimper and he gave me the Belden. Normally costs about $3.99 or more per foot.

Cant beat that. Already got cables made for the second battery in my mobile.

I realize its not a radio or really "radio gear" however, we all know that sometimes the little extras can add up in a huge hurry.
