You can also call the hogs....Josh904 wrote: Oct 01 2020, 08:21 I hog hunt with dogs. The PA is very helpful in calling the dogs back to the truck when they get too far away to hear me yelling for them.
Who has ever used the PA facility on a CB rig, and why?

I've used it on Halloween. I threw a echo voice changer mic on it and wireless speakers in the yard with the wireless transmitter in the back of the radio. I can change my voice to sound very evil.

I never understood the fascination with CB manufacturers putting a PA system in every single radio manufactured for sale in this country. I have never once needed one but I guess I thought there must be some sort of FCC rule requiring it or something because it's truly hard to find a CB (outside of a handheld) without a PA function. I think about the only CB I've owned that I can think of which didn't have a PA function was an old Johnson Messenger 123A or an old Johnson Messenger 100. But seems like anything made from the early-mid 70's onward has it.
What's even stranger is when you consider all the base station CB's with PA function. Like I'm going to need to address my family in other parts of the house from my radio room...

My Dad had PA speakers under the hood on both of our vehicles, back in the day. It was a lot of fun in my small town, to holler at people you saw.
