need info about scanners
I know absolutely nothing when it comes to scanners. So that is why I'm turning to the forum for help. I would like to know of some models and years of scanners to look for that would have the banned channels. I overheard a couple of guys talking about a hand held scanner that picked up an enormous range of frequencies and was able to pick up cell phone, land lines, etc.. If anyone has any info to get me out of the gates on this topic, I'm grateful!! Thanx Fat Kat

Yeah I agree, unblocked scanners nowadays aren't any fun because of all the
digital phones.
I have a Uniden Bearcat BC 200XL Handheld that goes from 29 Mhz to 959 Mhz.
I modified that when I was 14 or 15 years old, back in 96 or 97. Back then there
were alot of the old brick type cell phones and the walkie talkie type cordless
phones that you could pickup.
I just wish I could mod it to go down to 26 Mhz.

I agree. Most of the old cordless phones for the home aren't in use anymore. 42 to 46 mhz or there abouts you could hear if you were close enough. I heard something one day I never wanted to hear. The thought of it makes me laugh and wanna puke at the same time. Let's just say it involved a friend, ice cubes, and a 1-900 number LOL
