if i ever try to sale this truck who's guna want holes in the top of the dash :? .

Duck,

Does it have the overhead rail system? Post some pictures of it if you can.

If the console has dual cup holders in the front of it, pull hard on the black plastic cup holder. It will come out and reveal a big pocket easily big enough to mount an export radio.

Before you try to pull that cup holder up, lift up the rubber pad and there is probably a screw or two under it. I seem to recall that on Ford Expeditions.

I just did it to a 2001 F150 and it did not have a screw. just lifted the rubber out and pulled hard. It just popped right out.

Just zip tie it to the center console that lifts up. I just got done doing that in my wife's 2004 F-150 for our vacation to Tennessee. I also had a 12g power cord made to go from the battery to the radio. I think my 99v is swinging harder than it ever has. Just make sure to put a piece of cloth between the radio and the top of the console and use an external speaker so you can hear. I'll take pictures if you want but I'm getting ready to leave in a few hours.

If you've got the overhead rail, modifying a mount to work with it might be possible. That overhead system is a standard made by Johnson Controls. I don't think they make anything for CB, but I'm sure I could make something. Only hard part for me would be getting a truck to use as a model.

Duck,

Right after I posted that I looked up some information on the RailPort system. The new Toyota Tundras offer it. So since I have an insight with all the Toyota dealers around here, I'll see what I can do. I might be able to modify an existing export radio bracket to work with it.

I wonder if it is possible to take the ashtray out it is 1 of them you push the lid and it opens
type and it looks like the perfect fit for my S-6 rite there and would be totally out of the way
rite there? If not it looks like the only other spot i can see that will work is under the dash
on the right side of the steering wheel and if i go that route i would have to use like a Cobra
25 or sumpn in order for it to fit there
