Can you run a Dosy Test Center in Reverse???

Post by Stinger »

I was just wondering if anybody knows if you can take a Dosy test center with the multi antenna switch and run it in reverse using the antenna switch as a radio switch. In other words, use 2 radios and one antenna instead of 2 antennas and one radio??? I want to make the Dosy a radio switch instead of an antenna switch. Anybody know the answer to this? Thanks for all help.[/size]

Thanks,

Yea...I have a switch box but am trying to eliminate a jumper by just using the Dosy as the switch. Thanks, Stinger

Yep, A switch is just a switch. You can certainly run them "backwards" to have 2 radios and 1 antenna rather than 1 radio and 2 antennas. No worries mate! Blimey!

I could be wrong but I dont think you would be able to run that in reverse with the meter circuitry but like I said I could be wrong. I think that would be different than running an antenna switch in reverse

I RUN A 3 WAY DIAMOND ANTENNA SWITCH NOW ON MY BASE. 3 RADIOS, ONE ANTENNA. I JUST ORDERED A ALFA-DELTA 4 WAY ANTENNA SWITCH WITH A CENTER NUTURAL POSITION. I THINK WHAT HE IS WANTING TO KNOW IS CAN HE USE HIS DOSY TEST CENTER BACKWARD AS A ANTENNA SWITCH FOR THE METER HAS PLACES FOR MULTIPLE ANTTENNAS. YOU PROBABLY COULD BUT THE METER PROBABLY WOULDNT FUNCTION RIGHT. THERE IS NO ELECTRONICS IN THE ANTENNA SWITCHES I USE AND IT WORKS GREAT. I USED SOME CHEAP O ANTENNA SWITCH AND THE SWR WAS TERRIBLE. AND THERE NOT GOOD FOR VERY MANY WATTS. RADIOS-SWITCH-AMP- METER- ANTENNA.
11 METER OUTLAW.

I run a Dosy A-SW-4 switch in reverse to share one antenna with two radios--works fine (no meter on this model though)

Well. I got the answer last night. I have a close friend who tested this with his Dosy test center and it worked somewhat. The two radios transmitted just fine but the meters were confused and only the modulation worked...everything else was off the scale. Thanks all. Stinger.
