Congratulations and Well Done To Everyone Here !!!!!!!!

I want to give everyone here a big pat on the back, and the ladies a pinch on the rear  for the operation and great help and behavior on this site. I'm so glad I found it. As I've mentioned before, I've been CB'ing since the mid 70's and a ham for around 13 years. I'm very impressed with the very helpful and friendly attitude that everyone puts forth here.

So what am I comparing it to maybe? The comparison is made to the #1 main ham radio site that has discussion forums just like here. It's at [Please login or register to view this link] The hams want to pride themselves on how smart and advanced they are with hobby communications. AND BOY OH BOY DO THEY HATE CB'ERS WITH A PURPLE PASSION. But that forum is filled with so much ugly fighting, personal attacks, snide remarks and just general ugly behavior....it's almost unbelievable.

So you guys here have a lot to be proud of and I am proud of you all :P

Keep up the great and friendly work !!

I agree with you, 100% (especially about pinching the ladies!) But seriously, this is a great forum filled with very resourceful and friendly members. I'm glad that I can be a part of it too. DX MONKEY, the attitude you put forth in this post is the kind of attitude that makes this forum great! My hat's off to you, sir.

this is a great site. dx monkey, your the kind of ham operator that makes the ham radio a good hobby. i can see why the old school hams dont like some of the things about cb ,but they dont have to listen to it. turn the channel. i like 11 meter but i dont go talk smack about ham radio. i like radios and respect all forms of it. so dx monkey you might be a ham radio / cb radio guy but take pride in the fact your not a hamwinkie. :D yes this is a great forum.

I'm an extra class ham and I agree with you all the way. This is the best CB site on the net!! I've stopped using all the ham bands except for VHF. I think I kept the VHF because it's just like CB! Most of the 2 meter guys up here were former or current CB'ers. I think they all went to ham because CB seems to have died around here? I have my CB on most of the day and it's dead most of the time. On the other hand 2 meter has people talking almost 24/7. I was on the HF ham bands and the people are so rude up there I couldn't stand it. And your right how these so called "super experienced radio operators" That call themselves hams look so far down there noses at CB'ers if it ever rained they would drown!! I find CB'ers a much better crowd to talk with. How come when you tell a CB'er that your also a ham they don't walk away mad? And we CB operators are supposed to be the bad guys?

Some of them like to make fun of CBers.

But if you tune upper end of 75 meters, between about 3900 to 4000KHz, you'll find its just like CB or worse, just the average age is higher.

I just passed my tech exam and will begin studying for my general Thursday. I am looking forward to expanding my horizons but my #1 hobby love will continue to center at 11 meters.
