RCI ALL THE WAY!

If you want a frequency drifter, then Galaxy works great.

Both are great choices. They are basically the same radio with a few differences. The biggest difference in the two are that the RCI has weather channels, more channels, and a 6 digit frequency counter were the galaxy only has a 5 digit. The 6 digit is a must if you plan on talking SSB IMO. The Galaxy also has green lights and the RCI has red.

I love my 2980WX but both are super nice.

What type of operating do you plan to do? That's a lot of cash, and if you're just a sideband operator, better can be had for not much more. -drdx

I agree. Neither are for the hardcore SSB'er.But work fine if you just talk SSB occasionally.

Yo Linx---maybe they USED to be drifters but they don't drift these days. I understand it was a power supply issue. The new Galaxy rigs drift down a few points on the 6th digit when you first turn them on and after that they stay stable.

Just a FYI ;)

Kieth, I would go with the RCI, and then you need to use side band and you and I can talk.
No strain no pain.
