RCI-2980 ... Unknown Mods??

Hi guys,
I recently bought a used RCI-2980 that has had some mods done to it. The guy I bought it from didn't really know much about it so couldn't explain what all the mods were. I haven't got it set up and working yet so I haven't been able to experiment with it to find out what these extra knobs and switches do. But it's driving me nuts, so am wondering if anyone has an idea what they might be for? Here's a picture of the added stuff on the side of the 2980.



I am thinking the top dual knobs are for Echo, no idea what the other knob and toggle are for. Any ideas??

It's probably noise toys. The dual control knob, I would almost gurantee is the echo control. That seems pretty well standard for echo controls. The other round one could be some type of clarifier slide for ssb usage. Could be some type of modulation board. Does it have a fan kit installed? I've seen the toggle switch for channels and fan kits before.

Open it up and take some internal pictures of where the wires are going to and we can probably help better

Hi all,

Now that I have my base up and running I know what these add ons are. The top dual knob is, in fact, a variable echo control. The bottom toggle and knob are talk back and TB volume control. I do not find talk back very useful, but the echo is RIDICULOUS, and can go on forever if turned all the way up.

Just figured I would bring this to a close..
