I am setup up my old astroplane

Hi I need help. I am setting up my old Astroplane antenna. I have the antenna and pole. I need to get a good price on LMR-400 or Belden 9913f or jsc3500. I know hard line would be better, but will not fit my pocket limit.
Any help would be thankful.

Yeah, that's a good deal there. I think name brand LMR 400 goes for .90c-$1.50 ft. I've seen some low brands go cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

If you're on a budget, most RG8U coax will work fine if your not planning on running 2kw of power.

I will have about a run 40 feet up the pole and 60 feet running on top of a fence. The wife don't want it to be seen and the area I live in has regs. So it is the only place to put it. I hate the 60 feet run. It is like for nothing, but I do what I have to do to get a base.

The extra 60' losses should be minimal on 27MHz using those type coaxes though...so you are smart to go that route. Save up a little longer and get the good stuff like you are wanting and you won't regret it.

I look forward to how things are working when you get done, too. ;)

One post said there is cheap stuff. If I get LMR-400 is some cheap and not worth it are as long as I get LMR-400 that is the good stuff.

the most important thing to consider is Avanti's recommended lengths for different types of coax when erecting that astroplane. for polyethelene dialect (insulator) recommended length is 12' increment, for foam dialectic the recommended length is 14' increments. and the coax needs to be strapped to the mast to provide a counterpoise at least in a length of 1/4 wavelength below the bottom hoop. I put my astroplane up following those guidelines and have a 1:0.1 match from channel 1 to 40 am using RG214.
I'm sure you can find those Avanti instructions by doing a search on the web, if not PM me.
