Well, mother nature done me in, I like to use philly stran guy cable. Its non-conductive and very strong. But you have to clamp it properly.
Well during the summer, a guy came un-done and the strain of all the other guys was to much. So there went the tower with my 8 element quad. Right on top of my 61 apache. OUCH.

But i got it back up, working the dx some on 6 and 28 and having fun.

Im only 55 foot to the boom instead of 65. And im now using my own 6 element flatside design. I will be going to a 8 shortly.

Im gonna try to upload a pic.
Also. Yes i am using a gamma match now. I have done considerable research and well, as for matching systems, there a T match, beta, gamma and direct fed. Beta i believe has the lowest loss. But the loss out of using a gamma is so small, I just went with a custom 10k gamma.

Looking good.

You just described my worst nightmare in losing a tower/beam. When theres a wind storm I barely sleep.
