I got the Texas star 250 and a RA 250. Haven't had a chance to try them out yet I need to have my 29 reworked to drive am amp and my local shop is closed till Monday.

RA 250? I didn't know that was for sale. I got the RA 450, but I haven't hooked it up either.

Got mine today it is the 575 mic and the thing is not even modulating at all. you have to put it all the way to 9 and it barely move the needle. i paid 100.00 for this and the thing is not working what the heck is this !!!! tried my d104 and no problem. i have to contact mike and see what he can do with this.

RA 450 = RadioActive 450 linear. Palomar look-alike. I guess the same goes for the RA 250 as well.

Pretty sure they are the cheap Mexican palomar's. If you buy enough you can get whatever name you want put on them.

1)Is the battery new?

2)was it pre-wired /if so is it wired for the radio you are using it on?

I would check those things to start with. I have a 575-m6 and when the battery goes so does the performance. Also the battery goes in the mic kinda funny so double check that it is still connected right. Hope this helps

Cheap Mexican Palomar's? It looks pretty well made to me. Are they not as powerful?

no they are still decent amps but several different groups are using the palomar name now, there is no "real" palomar anymore, the goverment took care of that a long time ago

some of the palomars have some better filtering and aren't mexican, different amp same name

Tried it with 4 brand new Battery (Duracell sealed and new) it is wired for 4 pin. Tried it all the radio i have ( see Avatar) tried it with my brothers radio (cobra 29 and 25, galaxy 959, uniden78 galaxy 94hp general lee and washington, all same result. so it is not the radios.
