What would be a radio that is close to the Saturn base. A friend of mine had one in the 80's and it seam to be a good radio. What is a good base for around 300 bucks.

I lot of radios but mostly the RCI 2980WX would be the closest.

rci makes the 2980 and the newer 2980wx. probably get one of those used for around your budget. you might want to stick with the newer 2980wx for ive heard the older models had power supply problems. i do see alot of the older 2980s still in use though.

I thought the wattage was more than that. I am surprise to see the wattage. What good base would put out about 50 to 100 watts are so.

The RCI-2995 is way over $300 and depending on what you want out of a radio is probably way over kill. There just isn't very many good base CB's anymore. Myself I am looking at the Galaxy for my next purchase.

The 2995DX is an awesome radio, everything in one package. If you don't want to spend that much, then the 2980 and an amp on the side.
