ok. when i turn down the squelch i usually hear the backround noise, but for some reason it is quiet. it sounds like the antennas not connected.i still get people talking fine. for some other people it sounds like they are bleeding over...is it beacuse its cold out? we had a pretty good ice storm yesterday and eveything was frozen. would this have done it? i hope my antenna aint messed up... :(

swr is 1.3 all the way across but for some reason it goes up to the red and back down when i hold it keyed for like 20 sec.

im using different types of coax, but im getting better coax in the spring... you guys will probably laugh, but im using cable and satelite coax with f adapers that might be my swr problem but i just want to make sure...

i have the A99

Radio is a radioshack trc 503

meter is a radioshack swr/ watt meter

base setup.

thanks

That coax probably does not have the correct impedance, CB coax is 50 ohm. Might cause some of your problems.

Sat/TV Coax is 75ohm which isn't correct for cb. You need some 50ohm cable
