Running coax cable for a truck
I just bought a new pair of antennas and wanted to know if anyone knew the best way to run them into the cab of my Peterbilt. The antennas are mounted on the mirrors, and i wanted to avoid running the cable through the vent window and having a loop of cable inside the cab. any help would be appreciated.
First welcome to the forum. On my 06 Frieghtliner i drilled a hole in the upper part of the door frame, just above the mirror bracket placed a grommet in the hole and ran the coax down the door frame using wire loop holders to hold it in place. Then ran the coax through the opening where the door hinge is. From there I ran it through the dash and up to the back of the radio. Coax was cut to length and a new PL 259 solder on the end. Takes a little time but makes for a much cleaner look. Any competed CB shop could do the same for you under $50.00. I will try and remember to take my camera to work tomorrow and get some pics.
