COBRA 2000 FACEPLATE

Post by JOHNNY BE GOOD »

Does anyone know if you can buy the replacement face stickers for a cobra 2000 I only see ones for mobiles also saw some Fancy metallic glitter looking ones for the 2000. I would like to find one that's close to original or one that just nice and clean looking without the metallic looking reflecting face. I have a great talking 2000 but the face has alot of wear and don't want to take radio apart to replace the whole front. Thanks for any info John

Are you talking about the metallic face plates that the gal on FeePay sells? I've heard that she does custom work also. Maybe contact her and see if she can fabricate some factory looking face plates for you. Another possibility would be mtdewnut, but I don't know if he does base stations...I've only seen mobile face plates on his site...

This is a 2000 that I did with one of (non sponsor) black decals. It looks very good but the only beef I have with it is that "coarse" is misspelled "course" on the clarifier. Aside from that, it looks very professional.

Guys,

In all fairness we have a sponsor that sells face plates so I edited your comments about the one located on the Bay. It's not fair to him to advertise for someone else that sells a similar product.

I'd Email MTNDEWNUT SALES and see what Jason has to offer just in case it's not listed on his webpage.

Thanks for understanding,

Rob

Sorry about the non sponsor name in my reply Linx I didn't know you shouldn't do that and I agree. Anyway Thanks for the picture in black I really like it and will try to see if MTNDEWNUT has them so I can support a sponsor. John

MTNDEWNUT doesn't do a faceplate for the Cobra 2000 ... The lady on Ebay does.

I've done business with the lady on eBay and the metallic looking sticker is better looking than the photo makes it look. Because of the light from the flash when the photo was taken, it makes it look all "rainbowy" but it isn't as bad as that. I got two stickers from her for a pair of Cobra 148F-GTLs that I'm working on and they look good. I'll take photos of before and after as I go and post them.

Its my understanding that MTNDEWNUT can do any face for anything, assuming he has the adhesive sheet in the right size.

I think all he needs is an accurate diagram of where the knobs and switches are, etc... I bet you could work out a deal with him to get one made up. I bet if you could get the original face off, or perhaps that piece of the case off, and ship to him, he could probably do you one up any way you want.

I bought one of his face stickers for my general, and it fits perfect like a machine fit. Very high quality decal, the die cuts were perfect except a slight and unnoticeable misalignment on my TX/RX LED that is so miniscule it doesn't bother me one bit.

His prices are quite reasonable for the quality of work, and the turn-around time was only a few days from my order until it hit my mailbox. Would recommend his product highly to anyone looking to buy a faceplate decal.

He can't do them. I asked him already.

The blue diamond-plate decal that Deb makes is REALLY sharp looking. The 35$ price tag is another thing though...I'm sure she'd do a custom job if you ask her, I heard from a couple people that she's really nice...you could probably get a chrome one, or a dull chrome like the original faceplate....that would solve your problems, just ask..
