You going to run more than 5K watts?BattMan wrote:what watt meter is everybody using on their base setups. I have both a Dosy 4000 and a Astatic 700(5000 watt) but I need something that goes higher for my new base setup........can anyone provide me with some info?

I agree, those LP-100A's are awesome.
I'm also pro-bird. You can pick up a used Bird 43 for around $160 from NM3E and pick up whatever size slug you want to go from there for usually between $60-150 each. The good Bird PEP kits are available via manufacturer for around $60 and are simple to install.

awesome info guys........gonna run over 5k so I need something that will handle it.......looking for something to handle about 10k. Was looking for a place to buy a bird and maybe a 10k slug. any more info will be greatly appreciated. I have just about all my stuff in and will start putting it together next week when my building(10x12) will be delivered.
You'll be happy with that meter. That's definitely a great rig. I've read up on them too, but since I already have a bird, I can't really justify buying one unless I sell the bird and buy it.Midlander wrote:Hey guys,
After reading this post and reviewing the LPA-100A meters I bought one tonight. I got one with the 5KW coupler. Can't wait to get it here.
