External Speakers

A buddy of mine has a radio with a internal speaker. Dose every radio have internal speaker or do i need to buy a external speaker

I can't think of a radio today that doesn't come stock with a speaker. Usually they are on the bottom a few models have them on the front.

I recommend an external speaker anyway.

The bearcats are good cheap ones ~$25, and the metal Texas Ranger one has a really nice sound ~$50 (ouch). Just about any speaker will do though. I've been disappointed in the sound of the internal speakers, when compared to a decent external one. Even a small stereo speaker or a check surround sound speaker can sound pretty good.

for the most part they all come with internal speakers, but i have found that i can better understand the transmissions by using a good external speaker. on my k5 blazer, i use a amplified external speaker for those moments when i have to be out of the truck!
