I have an old JC Penney 6218
Retail No. 918-6218
Catalog No. 981-8394

40 channel mobile that works but not well. RX is great but TX needs help. I have found mod info of a sort.

Modulation = RV2 or Remove C96
AM Power = L7 L11 L12

RV2 is an adjustment pot, but what would cutting a cap be for ? or do ?

and AM Power ?? this is all I have found , any ideas ?

Also, does anyone have schematics on this radio ?

rv2 turn it all the way up
the cap is the modulation limiter do not remove
am power L7 L11 L12 if you do not have a power meter

Thanks, have been to that site already. They dont have anything for this radio and I dont know who actualy made the radio for JC Penny or who made the PCB and what would be close or the same as.

Would it maybe be in a old mod book like cb mods or somethin. I know the local libary here has got a couple of old mod books

I have some old mod books on my hard drive but didnt have anything more than I found online. May be a lost cause but I just wanted to use it as a test bed for experiance. Learning is never a bad thing.
