ok I have a Cobra 29 LTD Classic peaked and tuned setup has a base due to HOA rules I can't install a normal base antenna so I'm running a 5' Firestik mounted to a 2 wheel hand cart in my backyard I would like to know if there is a better antenna I can run that dosen't have to be skyhigh but still work better then the one I'm using

other than that, i dont think there is much u can do other than put up a A99 right beside your house(out back) so that it cant be seen to well, if it was me i would use a 5 foot mast or 10 foot mast and hook up a a99...Dj
there are also attic type antennas out on the market too, back like i said, i would just put up a a99 right beside the houseor ya can put a American flag on your antenna and put it up...Dj
You can create a simple dipole, that would be fairly small. On CB it would have legs approximatly 9.5 ft. I don't think anyone would say anything about that at all. The RadioWavz company is nice..I have a Windom from them, but there's nothing saying you can't do it yourself. It's simple to do!

It should be about 8 ft 8 inches each side for 27.205 center of the band. Get some split bolt connectors and fold the wire back on itself instead of trimming it. Makes it a lot easier you won't have to worry about cutting to much off.
