I read on a couple of sites that if you are running an amplifier, you should have a tvi filter between the radio and the amp.... and then one between the amp and the antenna to do the most good. I guess that makes some sense.......don't amplify bad harmonics from the radio and then squash em' down again before hitting the sky. I have a Paradynamics 1000 and I would like to get a better filter than that. What do you guys use and what is supossadly the best?

Thanks,

I use a Bencher YA-1, located last in line before the antenna. This is a quality made unit, I believe it was a little under $100.

I use a bencher ya-1 right after the amp. It was under 100 and is good for 5kw.

The low pass (tvi) filter should be the last piece of equipment before the coax goes to the antenna and it doesn't necessarily mean you'll be free of tv interference (best way is turn down the mic gain).
You don't need a "tvi" filter between radio and amp. Some stations may benefit from a voltage gradient isolating type "filter" between radio & amp then another between amp and other downstream equipment be it tuner or meter, etc.
These things "wipe" any rf off the braid of the coax.
