Re: should my meter be grounded?
Not really. Most meters have plastic boxs anyway. I have never grounded a meter...One thing that I did do, that made a big difference on how the meter worked, was I installed a Drake Low Pass filter behind the main amp, because RF was messing with the SWR/Power Meter, causing it to give false SWR readings if the Amp was turned on.
I would have the SWR set like at 1.1, but when the amp was turned on, the meter would first read 1.1, but the longer I held down the Mic Key, I would notice the needle on the meter slowly moving up...After installing the filter, it has never done that again.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I would say no. If you don't have any interference problems then I wouldn't worry about it.
