I had a 2950DX. I had several tech's through it (mostly wasted money)

Of the little good advice I've gotten, and heeded from my door to door stops at poor quality CB shops is to "keep your fingers out of an RCI 2950 DX" computer based radio! It can easily end up as a door stop, or book end!

The only good step that I can recommend is that you beg ***Censored*** to take it, SuperWackPack it and perform SuperReceive too.

If possible, variable talkback, and echo would be cool, but I might be off my rocker on that one.

RA will make it rock!

If your only planning to do basic AM, you might consider going with different radio. I glad I did!

Search my posts for my expensive escapades in radio for a heads up.

Oops, just realized your in England...don't think shipping would be pleasent for cheap.

Invite RA over tor tea!

Anyway, good to hear from someone in Jolly Ole' England!

if you remove tr32 it is going to sound
like crap. it will over modulate splatter cause it to sound
muffled. do it if you want but it will not sound good.
you would be much better off to get the radio tuned.

Good Call JCollins,
My 2950DX was only talking at 7-8 watts after two thieving shops went through it. But, they didn't talk into the mic, to show it off, they whistled into it and showed me the meter that was over 10 ft away. One of the shops even had an automated whistler!

Nah,

My wife donated my "Bird Man" costume to GoodWill.

Guess I'm stuck with talking now.

yes it is a transistor, if your looking at the board with front of radio facing you, it will be on the right corner of the board towards the front of the radio. hard to see on most 2950`s...
