Protech does it again

So, i had been talking to protech for ... maybe 6 months about sending him a radio, granted i went through 2 radios from the original, but i ended up sending him my galaxy 95t2 that was hacked, and couldn't talk for anything, wouldn't stay on freq, and it just sounded horrible, all it had was a good receive.
So when i finally sent the radio to him, ray worked on it, text messaged me any questions he had, and to tell me it was done. Now the radio is pretty awesome. i am VERY happy with this.

The guys i generally talk to are picky, one guy who is against galaxy, hasnt had anything negative to say about this radio, he speaks very highly of it and ive heard compliments come out of him that i would have never expected to hear. That thing in the new truck, with the new antenna does an amazing job.

It had a decent amount dont to it for a fair price. if need be i will definitely consider sending radios to him again.

Thanks Tez. I'll let Ray know about your post. It's because of customers like you that keeps him from retiring. And thank God for all the CB butcher shops in the world too. They are job security. I've always wanted to post a picture of the wall of radios he works on every week that come in from all over. The only reason I haven't is that some people may get embarressed seeing the radio they worked on waiting in our line. Ray is so fast working on a radio that he can fix all the shipments like yours plus the walk in customers. And we are a high volume shop becuase of our location. Just ask Sarge or any member that lives here locally that have witnessed his speed. He only works from seven to one, five days a week. From seven to eight he works on what was shipped in from the night before. At eight we open and all the walk-ins line up. 90% of our eight o'clockers are frieghthaulers and teamsters just getting off work. These ducks use slip seat boxes filled with all the gadgets besides radio gear. And they will drop a couple of grand to build a slip seat box for them. When this crowd finally thins for thier bed time, the OTR drivers are the majority until we close. In total we average forty two radios a day according to Quick Books. And that's not including the free bench checks.
In this economy we are thriving with repairs. Seems like ducks rather repair what they have instead of buying new. So we win either way. We have all bought new vehicles and houses. Me personally have bought two more businesses and my wife a new Ford Taurus. Ray has car fever again and seriously considering buy another Corvette since his son wrecked his. So now you know were your money is going. At least he buying American, huh?
I should also like to mention Andy our other tech that works one to six. All he knows is what Ray has taught him and he is always upstaged by Ray. He's a great guy and tech. But when customers think of Pro-Tech, they think of Ray. He should get some recognition for his work as well.

Again thanks Tez for your intellegent choice for using Ray and giving us money. We back out reading the mail. 8)

No problem, I love the work my local tech does as well, he does a great job, and does many commercial radio systems too... police and all that. But it was cheaper for me to send my radio to you, than to bring it to him. Your turn around time wasnt bad either!

At least my moneys going to a chevy!

And i think you may be seeing a 2950, i hear ray doesn't like working on them, but i think it will be easy, its a repair...
I just gotta get some money first.....

Getting my bike license and ... being low on work is no good...

It was a pleasure doing business with you, i will gladly recommend you to anyone and everyone, it was a pleasant experience, and im getting AMAZING reports from the guys.

Nothing like buying American made. Like Skip Shooter and Bad Boy antennas. 8)

Glad to see the Protech bunch is still in good shape. As of this afternoon I am in the market for a new antenna. Had the 102" in the garage for a couple months cause truck went to the shop for a few days and never got back around to putting everything back on. Went to screw her down in the mount and the antenna fell over on my head. The stud broke off in the mount. I didn't have a chance to try and get it back out yet, that will be a task for tomorrow afternoon. Now I gotta figure out what I am going to replace the 102" with. And get some ground straps so I can get my SWR's down some more. Last checked at 1.5-1.6 across the board. Time to tinker again it looks like. Sorry to stealin the thread, not intentional. Protech is a good guy spent some time chatting on the phone with him in the past and bought some coax and mount from him. And would buy from him again in a heart beat.

The Buisness Journal ran an article about the economy and best buisness that will survive and prosper.
Just about anything in the service and repair industry. They listed Appliance repair near the top.
As people will be wanting to fix what used to be throw away products.

So i suspect all you guys in the service/repair industry will be getting even more busy too, as the economy gets tighter.
People will be looking for deals on used, and fixing up thier old vs. outright buying new.

Thought i'd share this,
