CB Radio Talk

Had an expensive past couple of weeks. My cobra 2000gtl lost rx and tx I think the finals are gone and it is off to the shop. My power supply for my ham radios went on the fritz, I think the i/o switch is bad, and that is off to the shop as well. I am running my RCI 2950 and my icom 229h on battery backup. Hopefully in a week or two I'll have my station back to normal. WHAT A WEEK!! Other than that life is grand!

Last night was a good night on the 10m band. Could hear Kentucky and Georgia, and most of the southern states on 28mhz. I didn't check the cb band. My battery ran out of juice by the time I got ready to try it. Can't wait to get the cobra back, I made alot of contacts on that old radio. Been quiet here in NNY otherwise.

got my power supply back for my 10m rci2950 today and my cobra 2000gtl will back froim the shop either thursday or friday. Things are looking better in the shack thats for sure!!

Hey littlered, What shop do you send your stuff to?

I send my cb's to Barkett electronics and my power supply went back to where I bought it from, which was big buy city out of the bronx NY. I sent everything out UPS.

have all the radios back and working good! things in the shack are back to normal.. will try to get somer pics on for the set up.

Been a busy summer and fall here. Picked up some new radio's and did some work on the antenna system. Got them up a little higher on the tripods. Picked up a new Icom 706mkIIg for my ham set up and a Icom Iv82 2M handheld. Been making some nice 10 meter contacts on the 706, but the skip hasn't been the greatest here in NNY for the cobra 2000.

Not much going on here today. No skip on the CB or 10M. Been learning "the code" this week. Can't wait to start talking some DX. Cold and clear here in NNY for the pst few days, the local signals are noce and strong, but no DX., hopefully soon!!

Was that 706 new or used? I'm looking to pick one of those up myself and curious how much you paid if it was a used unit.

bought it new through AES. Nice rig seems to work great! I'm not sure what they are new. I bought it as a base for now and later when I get some money saved up I'll buy a nice Hf base rig, and put the 706 in the truck. Thanks for asking

Another busy night here in the shack. Been talking DX on 27.385lsb. The midwest is rolling in very well. Most Dx we've had here in a while. Hope that these cold winter evenings are full of DX. A change of pace from the locals!!
