Re: New Radio.
Post the particulars on it.
Tweaked? Tuned?
Any modifications?
When and where did you get it?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Re: New Radio.
I got it off Fleabay. And the person i got it from does not know how to pack and ship stuff.when it showed up The echo knob was almost broke off! and the small faceplate was pulled away from the case. But after i cooled down and took my time i got every thing back the way it was supposed to be. Then i took it to the local CB shop and had him bench check it and rewire one of my Astatic mic for 5pin.O yeah had him set the dead key for my 350 amp i am going to run with this thing.I am running a inverted v dipole i made last year but i was going to make a 1/4 ground plane ant but i just found a guy that hase a base ant he wants to sell .Hopefully i can pick it up for cheap. And made my first barefoot trip to sothern cali last on lsb 38 and was like

oh man . i just love those old cobra base 2000 gtl's. the way it looks and has the freq. counter as well plus lsb/ubs features.
sory about what happend to the radio being messed up some when u got it, but alil fixing like you said did the trick. realy nice setup you have. and i,m also geting a dipole and gona try the inverted v shape as well. maybe i,ll get to speak with you soon and see how they both work. handle is shakuna or 2741 . blessings.

Re: New Radio.
LOOKS like a great set up after readjusting to it's original look.
I hope you get a better antenna not the mobile antenna.
If your into making antennas make a 11 meter loop they are great for DX.

Full wave loop 1005 / 27.205 = 36.94 ft or 37 FT ............ channel 20
Then use a 1/4 wave matching stub of RG 11U 72 ohm coax or rg 59 to get a 50-52 ohm match
RG 11U is easy to figure 984/freq 27.205 x velocity factor .66 divide that by 4
Answer is 5.96 ft on channel 20 or ....... 6 FT
Put a PL 259 CONNECTOR ON 1 END OF rg 11 AND HOOK THE SHIELD AND CENTER CONDUCTOR
to the 2 ends of the wire loop and presto you have a FULL WAVE LOOP
Its not a real radio unless it has tubes and USB/LSB on the front panel ....
