Pride Dx-300

Hi all, I traded for a Pride Dx-300 amplifier, runs one tetrode 250b tube. I can dead key 2 watts and swing about 12 and get 1kw. From what I have read this amp should not do that (pep) but the guy I got it fron said the bias circuit had work. So I just thought Id get some feedback, for intrest purposes only

i would keep the meter you used .
i never seen 1000w from 250b tube.

Thats what I said but it did it on his meter and both of mine

Both meters gave you a Peak reading, an Average reading meter will give you a much more real world number in my opinion.

Anyone have one of these amps? What would one in pristine condition cost? I am not wanting to sell mine but I found another one but dont really know what its worth

Great low drive amp...and if you don't abuse the tube,
the mtbf is 10 yrs. You should be seeing about
500-550w out of that amp of clean, smooth audio.
Wish I'd never sold mine. I'd be leary of 1 kw out of that
amp...if indeed that's accurate. That is "way" beyond
the rating of that tube and they aren't cheap to replace.

Going rate on a reasonably clean one that hasn't been
hacked/tweaked is in the $350 range.

good amps i have one and its still working just dont overdrive it keep it under 5 watts input and it will last for ever

What kinda results you get outta yours?
I run 2 watts deadkey and swing 12-15

i got great results when i first got it in 1989 i didnt know how to use it and i would input 10 watts and get 1kw after i would input 5watts and still get 800 to 900 but it had a backward swing after i hooked it up backwards and turned it on keyd up and boom !! a mini mushroom cloud i had it fixed and got it back to 900 watts but now i cruzz it at 2 watts input tune it to max and then back it off to 500 watts i have had it for almost 20 years only changed the tube once! enjoy and have fun with it with that amp if you can hear them thay can hear you and the recieve pre amp works great too see ya

one sold on ebay today for 280 almost 300 dollars listed as not working!!

Id let mine go for 500.00 bucks
