Magnum by Palomar?

Does anybody know if the "Magnum by Palomar 4500" amps are high or low drive? This is the blue face, 4 speed with black rotary selector nob. It has heat sink on the top and both sides. Pulled the cover and see that it is a four pill, but the pills are covered by ground braid so I can't get the numbers off of them. I have heard that Cobra had the exact same amp. The audio checks seem to point to about a 5-7 w deadkey makes the audio clean, anything lower starts to get garbled. I know I sortof answered my own question but, I want to be sure :icon_e_smile:

I have one of those. Very nice quality. But cant run it with my new magnum 257 mosfet. The swing is way too much. Ordered a comp 4x2879 box to replace it. Gonna see if i can sell the magnum locally. Should be able to their real nice peices of work.

The Magnum by palomar 4-pill has the 2290's in it...Should work just fine "as-is" with any CB that hasn't been all tweaked & Peaked into a splatter-box radio.

A radio dead keying 3w's or less, swinging to around 10w's or less on AM should be basically "plug and play" with that amp and not sound distorted...

Those amps work best with your standard run of the mill cb's...(not to say they won't work with dual final radios, they will, but may not sound as clear)

I have one it’s called Palomar tx5300 it’s grey in color. The front pant panel is reversible and I’d blue on back. Where it say palomar Qudrapower. It is a high drive also. Open the cover there is a three post jumper where you change from low to high. Berms do long I can’t remember exactly. Mine even had a little booklet when I got it.
