This is going to be a slow build unless I happen across a pile of loot. The truck is a little 2.4 so, i'll never be a big gun with her.
Anyways here is my old 2950, the only mod is talkback and channeled.

got some 0ga.running parallel to the second batt. and the little baby 1x2

Not much room for how I travel now but here is the 2nd. batt. install, with my inverter I use to charge my camera batteries while on the road. The battery is in front of a 48 QT. electric cooler for now, so it's a tight fit on the passenger side.

My dirty girl.

My next step is replace the engine bay battery, that one is pretty much gone now and a good puck with a puck plate.I should be able to pick up the battery this week along with quality terminals.
My near future steps are to install a second alt. and 3rd batt. once the second alt. is in i'll reroute the 0ga to it making a separate dedicated amp circuit.I've done 2 alt. installs before from my audio days in vw's . I remember running across a 240 amp alt. that came off a GM ambulance a few years back so I'm hoping that is a good application for me and something I can find?
well enough gabbin for now any advice or imput is welcome. I'm just trying to prep her for a straight 8 for now with some room to grow.

Yesterday I replaced the engine bay battery, and today I add a yellow top to make it 3 batteries in parallel now.

Just gal i still have some 0ga. left.
Made some calls about alts.. I have been looking into the GM ad-cs-144 case that will have the gm ab-244 internals as a 240 amp alt.
They also said they have a external variable voltage pot switch goes up to 20V.
So, for a total of $600 bones I would get the 240 amp, an OEM (cs-144 I want as a low 105 amp backup if something happens to the HO alt and it needs serviced) alt, a separate variable voltage regulator(up to 20V), a pig tail for the OEM cs-144 that i could tap into my stock harness if ever needed, mounting brackets, and a V pulley. Im hopin im in the right direction om this one. My draw should be around 108 amps - with potential peaks to 141 amps.??

Well the prep i am doing is for a straight 8.
*UPDATE* last night I picked up a clean virgin 2970dx, I couldn't resist the price and especially considering the condition. so I'm kinda stuck on thinkin bout using that to drive a straight 8 ....... Problem is I believe the 70 would be on the weak side to drive an 8 and the 1x2 is a lil much... SO, most likely I'll use a 2 @ 2290 into the 8. Yeah, yeah I know pics, pics, pics. I'll post some up soon. It's been a rough week so far.

Finally got some headliner material. The original had seen better days anyways. I knew I'd be drilling a hole in the roof anyways, so I waited to pick up material until I beefed up the roof a little for mounting larger antennas. I'd like to put some kind of trim cap between the 90 and headliner just to have a cleaner install to it .

Not so sure I like this, but the rg8 is kinda thick to tuck behind trim panels.I'm gonna have to take off the d pillar trim panel completely to see if I can come up with something cleaner.

Picked up and installed some decent 0/1ga. rings, the old ones I had on the ends for ground were crap and thin.

It may be some time before I can buy an alternator, I think I have a bent valve in one of my bikes. Hoping to tear it down this weekend or at least get a good start.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Awesome set up ! you mentioned running and ambulance alternator. Was it difficult to modify / fabricate that to your mobile ? Do you plan to hide that amp? Maybe i am paranoid but i am always paranoid to display my box in the open...being pir@!te and all.

No, i'm still on a stock alt., I was just remembering runnin across a gm ambulance alt. a few years ago. But the company I am considering buying the 2nd alt. from says they have the brackets for my truck.Amp? What amp? Oh, that thing that is hooked to my 10 meter that I monitor....That's a pre amp lol. J/K, yeah I just don't really wanna mount it anywhere yet since I don't know if i'm gonna keep that one.
