Anyone know how many watts?

#30266

Post by Farm Kid 16 »

got some pics of the amp I've been talking about, the guy i got it from said he thought it was 100-watt. But i don't know whether to trust him or not...also, what are all the switches for? i was testing it on my battery yesterday to see if it worked and three of the lights would light up, but the middle left one never did. any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

1st switch is Power

2nd switch is pre-amp,,,,brings in more

3rd switch is AM/SSB,,,up is AM

4th switch is a Modulation switch, up gives you lots of swing, down gives you more watts at key

Picture above is what that amp might of been at one time, you probably will get about 100 watts pep out of it, thats an old amp, well built

one other thing, if you look at the middle left switch, you'll notice that the ?boot? is missing, and so the switch can move in and out of the socket, anyone know where to get a new one, or is it threaded for a reg. nut to work?

should be able to get a nut for that switch, at worst go to radio shack with amp and they can match the nut, might have to buy a whole switch to get nut

Big Bopper has a picture for everything. That really helps people like me who are visual learners.

I'd say get you some sand paper and sand the crappy paint off. Paint it something other than black cause that will get really hot. Especially in the sun. Just a thought...

Have fun with it though.

I dont think Thumper was to far off base by calling it a ugly amp! What I mean is usually if people didnt take the least bit of care of the amp, then perhaps it tells stories of the inside!
