wiring Question...........for RCI-2970N2 (New)

Post by EAGLE3836 »

My CB shop just got in my New 2970N2 today, and it has a different wire hook-up with Lock in Clips.....8 Guage wire.........

The old wire system had there, in line fuse but is not water tight, I was wondering if I ran (2) 10 gauge 30 amp fuses Peralell (Side by Side) from the battery if that would be ok to do.......

Im Installing a New wiring Harness for Marine use, its Tinned,8 Gauge, the New 30 amp fuses are water proof and wont have the corrsion and loss of power as I did with the old one, when i went out mudding and thru rain storms........

The old fuse is an Inline 60 amp, that also came with the new one.........would like another way to do it.....I cant seem to find a water tight,60 amp Slide fuse DC for an inline install with 6 or 8 Gauge wire ends, plenty around with 10 gauge though.......

And it has to be fused as close to the Battery as Possable, in case of a short or Overload.........

Thanks in Advance for your Comments.................Rick

Paralleling power lines is okay if you can't find the 'right' sized power line cable. Paralleling fuses is never a good idea, unless those fuses are 'matched', which is very seldom. Can't find a water-proof fuse of the right size? How about putting the right sized un-water-proof fuse in a water proof enclosure?
